I saw bits and pieces of Baraka years ago. It was being played as background ambience at a party. I was in a slightly altered state of consciousness, so my memory of it is fuzzy. I do remember being blown away by what I did see. At one point, I stood in front of the TV for about forty-five minutes, completely transfixed, and I told myself that I must set aside an evening soon to watch the film in its entirety. Strangely, I never followed up on this intention. Even now, I feel like I’m saving the experience for the perfect moment. Perhaps that moment will be soon, and I’ll be sure to blog about it at that time.
