Nostalgia

I’ve been re-organizing my music studio/nook today, sorting through old photographs, My Dear Ella paraphernalia, and getting reacquainted with my old lap-top (the “back-up Mac” is freaking out on me). Meanwhile, the old tunes are shuffling through the iPod: Indigo Girls, Tool, My Dear Ella. Anyway, to top it off I was just reading through the old emails on this computer and, let me tell you, the sense of nostalgia is about ready to scatter me into bits and pieces. I can feel myself actively suppressing the desire to sob pathetically. I suppose this is always how nostalgia feels. The terrible realization that life is speeding head-long toward death, and forgetfulness is spreading its hollow ache through and through, deep into the core of us. Shit. Anyway, this new studio set-up is designed to inspire, not to bring despair. I’m hoping to bring writing back into my Integral Life Practice, maybe even revive the “Radical I Experiment” idea.
